The Incubation Team
The Incubation Team is led by the Vice President of Projects and is a place for Enactus members to come together and generate ideas for new projects. You can focus on challenges faced by communities in Durham, or further afield, and learn how to build a social enterprise from the ground up. We focus on the key Enactus UK & Ireland criteria of building projects that demonstrate: entrepreneurial leadership, innovation, business principles and sustainable positive impact.
The Incubation Team meets regularly in the Venture Lab (Ground Floor, Computer Science & Maths Building) to identify opportunities and build new projects. If you would like to join, sign up here: https://enactusuki.org/join and choose “Durham University”.
Taka Taka Zero
Taka Taka Zero is a Nairobi-based zero waste social enterprise and sustainable business. It empowers youths, increases food security and cleans communities through waste conversion. Using a community cooker that was repaired by the project, we transform waste into energy to generate nutritious food for the Mathare 4B informal settlement, as well as creating products to sell to communities further afield to keep funding the project. the durham wardrobe collective
The Durham Wardrobe Collective has been set up to increase access to professional attire for Durham students. We are an early stage project and are currently designing a business model that will enable the project to thrive.
